Serious Steel has always provided layered bands, but over the last couple years - many other brands have started promoting and selling "layered" bands. This is just putting lipstick on a pig. They are still a lower quality latex, often not continuous layers (each layer is independent from the other rather than being a single piece of latex) or they are only 5-7 layers. Serious Steel bands are 15-layers and the feeling is noticeable immediately upon your first use.
